M+M Monday II – Weezer

Last week, Weezer released their latest ‘color’ album, Red. I can remember hearing ‘Undone (the Sweater Song)’ way back in the days when MTV played actual music videos. Think it was on their ’120 minutes’ program. Their first album, the blue album, is just perfect from beginning to end!

I’ve been hearing ‘Pork and Beans’ for a while on satellite radio and liked it. And I even heard ‘The Greatest Man That Ever Lived (Variations on a Shaker Hymn)’ once or twice and is easily my favorite on the album. But all in all, I’m only 1/2 happy with the album. Up until track 6 is great and then for me, really gets out of what Weezer does. Yes, I know as an artist/band you always want to push yourself, but it just is boring for me after ‘Dreamin’. I’ll give it a few more listens to really decide.
