Drew University engagement session with Adrienne and Anthony

Last Sunday morning, I was happy to meet up with Adrienne and Anthony for their engagement session. I have had a chance to meet Adrienne, but with Anthony at school in Texas, I never had a chance to meet him. They chose a location where they first met, as an R.A and resident I am told, at Drew University.

I love going to new locations as it not only gets my creative juices flowing, but also provides great meaning for Adrienne and Anthony since they both went to school there!

Engagement session in Hoboken, New Jersey – Tammie and Dave

The past few weekends have given us rain or threats of rain, enough to postpone Tammie and Dave’s engagement session. But this past Saturday, despite a call for rain, turned out beautiful to wander around Hoboken. We stopped at the train station, then made our way up to Stevens, where both Tammie and Dave went to college. And although most baseball fans would think a Met fan and Yankee fan can be friends, let alone get married, they are mistaken!

Hoboken engagement session – Courtney and Mike

Despite some really hot weather this past Wednesday, Courtney, Mike and myself met up in Hoboken for their engagement session. I think the weather was an indicator on some interesting things going on in town that night! We saw a “pet” komodo dragon on a leash and a parade full of marching bands!

Brooklyn Engagement Session with Melissa and Chris – Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and Brooklyn Bridge

A rainy day pushed the session a week back and heavy traffic nearly caused me not to get out to Brooklyn. But when I finally made it out to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, we had to work pretty fast to beat the closing time. Luckily, we were able to get enough in and dodge the crazy dressed visitors who where there for a japenese anime/ninja festival.

We then headed down to the Brooklyn Bridge Park where we had a perfect sunset and ending to the session! I am looking forward to their wedding this summer!

Courtney and Matt – Ringwood State Park engagement session

Spring time is a great time for an engagement session in New Jersey. Ringwood State Park is perfect this time of year with a variety of colors, landscapes and backgrounds.

I headed up there recently with Matt and Courtney for their engagement session. I’m looking forward to their November wedding at the Palace at Somerset Park.

Last year, I photographed Amanda and Will’s engagement session at Ringwood State Park. I was really happy with the way it turned out! The engagement session was right around the time that I had started submitting to a stock photography agency, iStockPhoto.

I finally got some time to focus on submitting more to iStockphoto and am happy to have the below photograph from Amanda and Will’s session included into
my iStockPhoto portofolio!

Dan & Jeanine – A themed portrait shoot – Bergen County, NJ

You might have seen the previous post with Dan and Jeanine’s engagement session. They requested a Superman/Lois Lane look for the end of the session, but we did not get to it. So they came out to the studio recently to capture the photos. WOW! They pull off the Superman and Lois Lane look perfectly!

Marisa & Todd – New York City Engagement Session

I always let clients choose where they would like to do their engagement session. For Marisa and Todd, we headed into NYC! We began the session in Central Park. Between quiet park sections, hints of ‘the city’ and some romantic spots, it is one of the best locations for engagement photographs. After walking around the park for a bit, we stopped by 5th ave quickly, before heading over to the complete opposite of Central Park, Meat Packing district. This is another gem for engagement session and not only gives a big contrast to Central Park, but also really showcases the NYC landscape.

It does seem lately by the blog that the go to place for engagement sessions is Hoboken, NJ! Hoboken is such an easy place to photograph in because you get a variety of amazing locations in one small and walkable area. That and my clients live there!
