I just wanted to share another photograph that I took while in Hungary recently. It is a statue on the Royal Palace in Budapest. I also contributed it to my Alive for 365 project.

This week, my contributing photograph was Empty. My wife’s grandfather kept bees where he lived in Hungary (a small village called Edve). The last few years leading up to his death, his bee population kept dwindling and dwindling, until their were none. His bee “house” still stands with all his equipment there. The word ‘ures’ on the bee hives means empty.

One of my goals while visiting Hungary last month was to make some amazing photographs of the architecture and famous landmarks. So I set out one evening to capture the famous Chain Bridge from an angle that allowed for me to get another famous landmark, the Castle, in the background. Here are two of my favorites from my short excursion one summer evening.

One of the joys of photography for me is exploration. Give me a camera and a unknown place to me and I will wander all day. Around every corner is something new and exciting for me! It can be the place, lighting, people, etc. But I always find something to speaks to me and allows me to create a beautiful piece of art!

Kristian is a preschool graduate!

Time does fly, especially as a parent. 3 weeks ago and the day we left for vacation, our youngest child, Kristian, graduated preschool! He is becoming quite the big boy and is very ready for kindergarten this fall!

My “Fountain” series begins today on Alive for 365

This week, my contributing photograph was my first in my “Fountain” series. At a recent event, there was a beautiful fountain out in front of the venue. I took some detailed photographs for the couple. But once I looked at them, I wanted to push myself a bit in Photoshop (and Lightroom) to make them into little pieces of fine art. We returned yesterday from an amazing vacation in Hungary! Nearly 3 weeks of sightseeing, visiting my wife’s family, food, relaxing, soccer and food. I have a ton of photographs to share! I even did one small project. So keep an eye on our blog for future photographs!

I took the above photo on our plane ride home. After flying from Budapest to Milan, we left Milan for JFK. So I believe these are the mountains in Northern Italy.

“Remembrance” featured on Alive for 365

This week, my contributing photograph was “Remembrance”. I also took this photograph, along with “View of the Empire”, after finishing Tammie and Dave’s Hoboken engagement session. I knew that this would be appopriate for the 4th of July. Although remembering our service men and women is mostly done on Memorial Day, today is also a day to remember them as they fought to protect our freedom and country.
