Photo of the day – Ice Princess

Our kids have been in ice skating lessons for nearly two years now. Our son has moved up to ice hockey and our daughter is now in figure skating lessons. She recently got a new outfit for her lessons. We know she loves ice skating, but she may love the outfit even more!
“Winter blues” – a timelapse movie
We had quite a bit of snow in February! I was excited to get out in it a few times to take photographs. But one time, I decided to push myself with another timelapse movie. My first attempts, Tree and Sky and Sky drifting, came out good. But I am really happy with how this [...]

Photo of the day – Running to 1st

Spring time means nicer weather, longer days and baseball. But for our kids, that means softball and t-ball. Kristian had his first practice last night and really enjoyed it! They practiced a little bit of everything – running the bases, throwing, fielding and hitting. This photograph to me is a perfect moment of the joy [...]
Photo of the day – Full Grace

I took this photo at a wedding last fall. For some reason, it always reminds me of the movie ‘Pecker’ and this scene.

Alive for 365 – My featured photograph – Snowscape II

Every Friday, it is my turn to contribute a photograph to the Alive for 365 project. I have finally started to do what I had planned to do when I began the project, photograph more for myself. With the wintery weather really hitting us the past few weeks, I welcomed it to get out and [...]
Photo of the day – Snowscapes from Ringwood State Park

During the snow storm we had last week, I ventured up to Ringwood State Park to capture the beauty of nature and snow. Which snowscape photograph is your favorite, left or right? Why? Please leave a comment to let me know!

Coney Island, NY – Part 2 B&W

Like my post yesterday, here are some favorites I photographed with the Hasselblad and Tri-X B&W film.
Coney Diptychs – Coney Island, NY – Photo of the Day

Last month, I met up with a fellow photographer friend to wander around Coney Island. We both decided to photograph with something else besides our digital cameras. He used 35mm film and I used a medium format Hasselblad. I shot some B&W and color. With the color, I just liked how these photos worked together [...]
Photo of the day – Balloon Man

You never know what you will see in New York City! While in NYC for a recent engagement session, I accidentally took the wrong subway on my way to Central Park. Despite the delay, I was very happy to stumble across this man as I made my way up to Central Park.
Photo of the Day – Frank Gehry’s IAC Building in NYC

I had no idea who designed this building when I photographed it recently. I just knew that it looked cool and I had some great light to make some interesting architectural portraits. To find out more about the building, visit The IAC Building website.
Photo of the day – Bottles of Wine

Recently, I had a wedding in a winery down in South New Jersey. The reception, for about 50 guests, was in a nice room that was the wine cellar. Love this detail shot of the wine bottles! Enjoy your weekend!
Photo of the Day – Moon over NYC

While in Hoboken, NJ last night for an engagement session, we noticed how amazing the full moon looked over New York City. Fortunately for us, we were headed right to a park that was directly across from the city. So before getting some amazing portraits with my clients and the city in the background, I [...]
Photo of the day – Boating along the Hudson River

While photographing weddings, I always look for detail and scenic photographs that tell the story of the location, weather, etc. For Toni & Tom’s wedding, the ceremony and reception were to take place on a yacht along the Hudson from Jersey City. They both were getting in a hotel along the river and a photograph [...]
Inspirational, heartbreaking and very well told story!
Last week, I came across a very well told and done story online through the Dallas News. With DSLR’s introducing HD video into them, photographers and videographers are learning new tools, crafts and techniques. It also benefits the viewer when done nicely. This story, to me, is done very well with video, still photographs and [...]
Are YOU talking to me?!?!

Just a quick shot of a short session with my son Kristian and ‘hulk hands’ in the studio.
Our summer…in a pool!

We mostly spent the summer at a local pool we joined. It turned out to be better than any summer camp we could have signed up for. Our kids not only learned to swim on their own, but made friends, learned how to dive off a diving board and created some amazing family memories. We [...]
